    BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST

    The Construction and Equipment Division, a part of the Irving, Limited's group of companies, is a key player in the North American construction industry. With five operating units within the division, the group provides heavy equipment and crane services, civil construction, modular home and commercial buildings, wallboard manufacturing, and steel and fabrication services to its customers.

    We currently have an engaging opportunity for a Business Intelligence Specialist . In this role, you will utilize top technology and work with a supportive team that will drive you to be your best. The Business Intelligence Specialist will be a strong technical resource who works as a part of the Business Intelligence (BI) Team collaboratively with Business Analysts & Operational Leaders. The successful candidate will develop new analysis and reporting capabilities for multiple business lines and provide quality enterprise solutions following best practices and lead the organization through best-in-class analytic solutions.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acquire data from varying sources and apply data cleansing for further use by other analysts.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and dashboards.
  • Lead Divisional data governance with the goal to promote, report on, and improve data accuracy and reliability.
  • Transfer business process knowledge to operations and assist in troubleshooting related process errors.
  • Working with operations to locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Technical and Behavioral Skills:

  • Familiar with data blending and cleansing using Alteryx or similar tools.
  • Create complex data queries and calculations.
  • Familiar with common database systems and structures.
  • Microsoft Office skills in particular MS Excel required.
  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP software is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is considered an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • High level of curiosity and attention to detail, and self-motivation.
  • Exceptional communication skills with people from all levels of the organization.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
