Job Description:


As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for the overall positive experience of MLSE LaunchPad members as they participate in our amazing programs, cool opportunities, and special events.

As a member of our dynamic MLSE Community Engagement Team, you will be at centre court of the action, reporting to the Manager of Community Engagement.

You will be responsible for coordinating In-Reach initiatives such as external groups and school excursions to MLSE LaunchPad, creating collaborative initiatives, overseeing the positive experience of youth in programs and support in maintaining the strong family culture we have at MLSE LaunchPad.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the administration, monitoring, evaluation, and growth of the youth engagement strategy.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with the Manager, Community Engagement to develop a youth engagement strategy to support the positive experience of youth in MLSE LaunchPad programs
  • Provide direct inreach support for multiyear programs, new programs and programs serving a specific population
  • Maintain relationships with local high schools and elementary schools to ensure teachers, youth and parents are aware of opportunities and feel supported during excursions to MLSE LaunchPad
  • Assist with scheduling and implementation of Youth ambassador Volunteers and Corporate Volunteers outreach and marketing activities, campaigns, and strategies
  • Lead the update of promotional pieces such as brochures, public presentations, letters, newsletters and eblasts
  • Lead, promote and represent MLSE LaunchPad Youth Advisory Committee within the space
  • Support with youth focused special events and initiatives i.e., Viewing Parties, to maintain engagement in existing members of the facility
  • Works across teams to plan, organize and execute Summer Camps, March break Programming, and PA Days by actively promoting a comfortable and welcoming environment for youth of all ages
  • Regular travel within the surrounding neighbourhood and travel within the GTA as needed.

Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and volunteers
  • Proven experience working in community engagement or youth inreach/outreach
  • Experience supporting, planning and executing both programs and special events
  • Experience overseeing budgets
  • Proven track record of working with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
  • Proven track record of working with senior business, government and nonprofit leaders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment
  • Highly organized and can manage and prioritize competing responsibilities
