Position Overview
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Driver is responsible for being the runner to support our shop operations.

The Driver is responsible for using the company fleet vehicles to pick up orders from suppliers, drop off deliveries for our customers, and other pickups as required.

Routes may be local to the Peterborough area or day trips.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a customer centric attitude while interacting with all customers and suppliers.
  • Drop off finished projects to customer facilities and pick up orders from suppliers in a timely manner to ensure we maintain project deadlines.
  • Maintain the highest level of safety while utilizing company vehicles. Make sure vehicles are maintained properly inside and out. Make the Manufacturing Manager aware of any issues as soon as they arise.
  • Support skidding and wrapping of product for shipment. Conduct a precheck before leaving any facility.
  • Act as the designated runner for all shop needs including picking up paint, supplies, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining paperwork and delivery signoffs.
  • Support the cleaning efforts of the shop including but not limited to sweeping, using the scrubber, emptying garbage, etc.
  • Maintain a high comfort level driving all company vehicles including transit van, 16' flatbed truck, pickup truck with 18' trailer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience driving with a trailer and strapping and securing loads.
  • Willing to work flexible hours during the standard work week.
  • Health and safety focused.
  • Customer centric attitude.
  • Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
  • Valid G license.
