Job Summary:
The Chief of Staff (CoS) will report to the CEO.

The Chief of Staff will play a crucial role in supporting and facilitating the effectiveness of the executive's leadership and decision-making by managing various strategic, operational, and administrative aspects of the organization.

The Chief of Staff is a dynamic role and requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational acumen, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

The Chief of Staff is hands on - not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get projects done - and approaches work with a data-driven, analytical mindset.


Responsiilities:

  • Works closely with the executive to align organizational goals, develop strategies, and ensure that the executive's vision is communicated and implemented effectively throughout the organization.
  • The CoS aids the executive in making informed decisions by providing analysis, gathering relevant information, and offering recommendations on key business matters.
  • Facilitates communication flow between the executive and various teams or departments. This can involve preparing internal and external communications, drafting speeches, presentations, and other materials, and ensuring consistent messaging.
  • May oversee and manage special projects, initiatives, or crossfunctional teams, ensuring they stay on track, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives.
  • Responsible for monitoring the organization's daytoday operations and identifying areas for improvement or optimization. The CoS may work on streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and managing resource allocation.
  • Provides direct support to the executive by managing their calendar, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence. This allows the executive to focus on highpriority tasks.
  • Assists in longterm planning and forecasting, helping the executive identify opportunities, challenges, and potential areas of growth for the organization.
  • Manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external. This includes investors, partners, clients, board members, and employees.
  • Develops and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the organization's progress toward its goals, and prepares regular reports for the executive.
  • Helps navigate organizational changes, such as mergers, acquisitions, or restructurings, by providing guidance on how to effectively manage transitions.
  • Mediates and resolves conflicts within the organization, addressing issues before they escalate.
  • Works to ensure that the organization's culture and values are upheld, fostering a positive and cohesive work environment.
  • Conducts research and analysis on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to provide the executive with insights that inform decisionmaking.
  • Supports leadership development initiatives by identifying talent, providing mentoring, and implementing programs to nurture future leaders.

Qualifications:

  • Education Level: Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA preferred;
  • 35 years relevant professional experience in strategy/management consulting;
  • 510 years of experience in strategic planning at the intersection of product, customer experience and technology, that includes a strong element of project management;
  • At least 5year experience working on and driving highly visible, highly impactful cross
- functional projects;

  • Must be intellectually curious, inquisitive, thoughtful, and a good listener;
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills with an ability to creatively develop varied solution sets to multidimensional problems;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask several complex projects with the flexibility to be proactive in a fastpaced, everchanging environment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to lead through influence as well as collaborate across functional areas;
  • Resourceful and motivated selfstarter;
  • Presentation and Communication skills: must be able to (i) communicate (both written and oral) in a clear, concise, articulate fashion and (ii) when presenting work, demonstrate clear, concise articulation of proposed actions, illustrating opportunity, alternatives, considerations, recommendations and associated economics;
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English.
