As the Authorizations Specialist, you will work in a variety of settings and provide professional advice and may make decisions regarding the allocation of resources and adjudication of resource authorizations for the Natural Resource Sector.

Job Requirements:


  • A Bachelor's Degree in the resource management field, plus two (2) years of related experience*; OR,
  • A Diploma in the resource management field, plus three (3) years of related experience*; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience* may also be considered.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience working in land authorizations under the Land Act.
  • Experience with land valuation analysis, techniques, and principles to ensure a fair and equitable return to the Crown for the allocation of these and related resources (e.g. land appraisals, timber).
  • Experience working with real estate law.
  • Related experience must include the following:
  • Experience working in natural resource management.
  • Experience in consulting, negotiating and resolving conflicts with stakeholders and/or partners in natural resource management.
  • Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management.
