Position Summary


Under the supervision of the Counselling Services Team Team Manager, the Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the team in the delivery of Youth Programs.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning of Youth Program activities, dropins and workshops, including the development of communication materials;
  • Assist in promoting a positive, creative and exciting learning environment for youth programs;
  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Children & Youth programs;
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining a safe and secure environment for Youth in programs;
  • Provide program and administrative assistance to the CST team;
  • Attend team meetings and educational activities as required.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills
-
Must be between the ages of 15 to 30 and legally entitled to work in Canada;:

  • Child & Youth Worker and/or equivalent related experience;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problemsolving and organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of Youth activities (playgroups, resource services, lending library, dropins and community outreach);
  • Experience working with children and youth in a group environment;
  • Experience with and sensitivity to diverse community groups;
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, spoken and written; French and/or other languages are an asset;
  • Available to work flexible hours.
