    Alamos Gold's Island Gold is one of Canada's highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. This underground operation is located just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa in Northern Ontario. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold's Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality, and Alamos is now investing in a major expansion project which is expected to transform Island into one of the largest and most profitable mines in Canada with an 18-year mine life.     Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

    Location: The role the position is based out of (Island Gold Mine)

    Role Overview/Purpose:

    Responsible for executing on procurement category strategies, to deliver on goods/services/equipment requirements based on mine-site requirements, including but not limited to: category profiling, conducting RFx, evaluation of proposals, recommending / negotiating offers, implementing agreements with stakeholders, and supporting (as required) management of agreements within the operations

    Primary Responsibilities:

    · Support dissemination and compliance to Company's Procurement, Delegation of Authority, and other related Policies.

    · Work closely with Corporate Procurement to deliver on the Category Plan including providing support to regional initiatives.

    · Own the building, negotiation, and execution of the full RFx process including drafting and negotiation of resulting Regional or Site-focused agreements with support from Corporate Legal Team.

    · Ensure Category strategies and any correspondence with external 3rd parties are aligned with business and operational requirements including price, service, and risk.

    · Deliver, Track and report on value creation that aligns to the overall Supply Chain strategy, critical tasks, performance targets.

    · Ensure continuous supply of required goods & materials while managing any supply concerns which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.

    · Prepare monthly performance reports c/w gap analyses and other reports as required.

    · Liase with variety of departmental personnel to confirm specifications, required dates, etc.

    · Execute orders for supplies and services as required, including projects.

    · Ensure suppliers adhere to new and existing terms for usage, cost, lead time, and supply, among others.

    · Collaborate & cooperate with Company's Internal & External Audit Process, as and when necessary.

    · Other duties, as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager, or equivalent.

    Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

    · 5-8 years of Procurement experience gained in a mining industry or operations or engineering focused environment.

    · Degree qualified preferred with a focus on engineering; ASCM certified (CPIM, CSCP) equivalent an asset.

    · Significant commercial, negotiation and deal-making experience required.

    · Experience with Category Management, sourcing & contracting with Total Cost Ownership approach preferred.

    · Self-starter who can anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision.

    · Excellent organizational and communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external stakeholders

    · Advanced numerical, analytical and administrative skills; including advanced MS Office skills with a focus on MS Excel.

    · Proficient with SAP MM module.

    · Ability to work with various levels of the organization.

    · Bilingualism is considered an asset.

    Working Conditions:

    This position is a 4 days on / 3 days off. Hybrid, onsite and from home.
