Manage the Bakery department; handle day to day operations, allocate resources, train, coach and schedule staff

Prepare, bake and decorate breads, pastries, cakes and a variety of assorted desserts ensuring high quality and presentation standards are met
Set up baked goods based on merchandising standards; ensure an accurate amount of goods are prepared based on store needs
Provide exceptional customer service; taking orders, answering customer inquiries and upselling goods at our Bakery counter
Support the development of standardize recipes for all menu items
Additional duties as required

Job Requirements

Previous experience working in a bakery, decorating cakes/pastries and providing counter support in a grocery store environment is required
Experience managing vendors, inventory, motivating staff and monitoring performance
Food Handler's Certification is required. Postsecondary in a culinary skills program is an asset
Health and safety orientated with a passion for cleanliness adhering to food, safety and sanitation standards
Detailorientated, creative and accurate
Physically fit with strong manual dexterity; comfortable standing, bending, walking and lifting for long periods of time
Open availability; must be flexible to work all shifts including days, evenings and weekends.
