**Finance Coordinator- Payroll & Benefits**:
Full-Time, One Year Contract( extendable based on funding): Autism Ontario is a charitable organization with a history of over 50 years representing the thousands of people on the autism spectrum and their families across Ontario. Hours:37.5hrs per week
Annual Salary:
$63000-$68000
Duration:1 year contract (extendable based on funding)
Position Overview:
The Finance Coordinator - Payroll and Benefits, is responsible for providing effective, efficient, and accurate delivery of financial and accounting services at Autism Ontario.
This role is responsible for ensuring that Autism Ontario staff are paid bi-monthly wages and expenses in an appropriate manner and are paid within established time limits.
The Finance Coordinator - Payroll and Benefits also contributes to the efficient day-to-day operations of the Autism Ontario Finance department, and supports the work of management, staff, and volunteers.
They should comply with all relevant internal controls, policies, and procedures and that they are consistent with legislative requirements.Key Responsibilities:
***- Oversee the processing of payroll for the organization to ensure compliance with CRA's requirement and agency policies.
- Maintain business controls and audit trails for all payroll transanctions as well as assist with annual and government payroll and pension/RRSP audits.
- Ensure the production of Monthend, Yearend, and T4 statements.
- Calculate and record EHT and ensure compliance.
- Manage Autism Ontario's employee benefit programs with our benefits provider and ensure new employees are enrolled in a timely manner.
- Manage and maintain applicable software to ensure all legislative updates and internal changes are processed accurately.
- Balance payroll accounts by auditing information and identifying and resolving discrepancies. Assist the finance department to ensure proper reconciliation and reporting of payrollrelated accounts.
- Maintenance of employee master records on any HRIS system and process all personnel changes such as authorized transfers, new hires, terminations, ROEs, garnishments, RRSP's.
- Publish annual payroll and attendance calendar where required.
- Work with HR to establish, enhance, and review (new and existing) systems and procedures in payroll administration, making choices that reflect best practices and are intended to support the organization's needs for the longer term.
- Other duties as assigned may include the issuance of thirdparty cheques to vendors as requested by the Finance and Accounting Manager.
Qualifications:
- The Finance Coordinator should have completed (or be in progress) the Canadian Payroll Association Certifications (PCP or CPM).
- A minimum of a 2year postsecondary education in a relevant field such as Finance, HR, Business Administration or Accounting.
- 1+ year experience with payroll processing.
- 1+ year of progressively responsible financial management experience.
- Proficiency in Sage 50, Sage Intacct, MS 365 (especially Excel), and Ceridian Power Pay.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian payroll laws, regulations and practices.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector is an asset.
- French language is an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to principles of social justice, equity, inclusion and cultural competency.
