    Reporting to the Chair of Construction Trades the Manager is responsible for supervising and managing the delivery of accredited construction trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrician, oil heat system technician and housing maintainer) at Sanatuliqsarvik which is an accredited facility with obligations to the Nunavut Apprenticeship Certification Unit (ACU). The goal of accredited programs at Sanatuliqsarvik is interprovincial red seal accreditation or journeyperson accreditation. This position acts as a liaison between faculty and the College Centre for Teaching and Learning and assist faculty with obtaining their instructional certification. Manager is also responsible for the Annual Maintenance Reports on each of the trades offered at Sanatuliqsarvik and submitted annually to the ACU. The Manager will provide guidance on faculty teaching methods, assist the Chair, Construction Trades with development of teaching schedules, and fill in for faculty who are absent (as accredited Trades level courses require a Journeyperson instructor).

    The incumbent must possess Journeyperson certification obtained through Completion of Apprenticeship Program in one of the disciplines appropriate to program offerings at Sanatuliqsarvik such as: Carpentry, Electrician, Plumbing, Oil Heat System Technician or Housing Maintainer. In addition, the incumbent should also have 3 years instructional experience. Northern instructional experience would be preferred. The incumbent should also have 5 years of management experience which may be obtained through a Journeyperson-Apprentice Relationship and have experience working with an apprentice. This position manages a large budget; experience in budgeting is an asset as well as the ability to speak Inuktut and/or French.

    A combination of education and experience maybe considered.
