- Assist lawyers in the drafting and completion of estate planning documents including wills, powers of attorney, trusts, probate applications and estate administration, related litigation pleadings, and reporting documentation
- Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients
- Prepare and maintain trust minute books
- Handle administrative details with respect to maintaining contacts, e-filing, client list, accounting, precedents database, etc.
- The ability to be flexible to the changing demands of the Firm
- Minimum 5 years' previous legal assistant experience
- Experience in Wills, Estates and Trusts required
- Successful completion of a legal assistant or paralegal program required
- Strong technical skills using MS Office and advanced Word functions
- A willingness to learn specialized wills and trusts databases and wills drafting program
- Extremely organized and meticulous with follow-up and detail
- Ability to take initiative, ask questions, prioritize and multitask
- Flexible, team player who is client service oriented
- Strong work ethic and committed to doing a good job
