    Senior Protection and Control Engineer, Substation and FACTS

    How You'll Make An Impact

    • Preparing, reviewing, and modifying engineering documentation and drawings, including wiring diagrams, bill of materials, and cable lists for Substation and FACTS projects.
    • Preparing Preliminary Power Single Line Diagrams, Auxiliary Power Single Line diagrams, and Protection One‑line diagrams.
    • Preparing, reviewing, and modifying schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and interconnection diagrams for Control & Protection Panels, devices, and FACTS projects.
    • Performing cable ampacity and station auxiliary load calculations.
    • Creating equipment specifications and detailed bill of materials.
    • Managing interfaces with multiple internal and external stakeholders, such as customers, Siemens Energy engineering, engineering contractors, suppliers, and site contractors; monitoring and reporting project engineering progress, and implementing mitigation and corrective actions in coordination with project management; helping identify and analyze project risks and proposing remedial actions.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience working on substation projects. Experience with FACTS/SVC technology through formal education and/or project work is desirable.
    • Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred.
    • Prior experience in engineering design for utility power projects is desirable.
    • Knowledge of ANSI and IEC standards, and AutoCAD.
    • Experience with various vendor protective relay equipment typically used in substations, including SEL, Siemens, and GE.
