Job Description Summary:
GE Healthcare (GEHC) is currently an $18B segment of General Electric Company (GE). It will be spun off from GE and is expected to operate as a standalone public company early 2023.

You will be responsible for supporting the tax reporting and filing processes for the GEHC business in Canada.

The scope includes preparing monthly commodity tax filings, annual income tax submissions, and supporting Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) audits as well supporting the business with tax reviews and requests.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of all commodity tax, sales tax, and income tax filings for GEHC legal entities in Canada.
  • Support CRA tax audits, including pulling all required supporting documentation and working to resolve tax disputes.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the annual income tax schedules, including supporting the preparation and filing the partnership and Corporation income tax returns by the required deadlines.
  • Responsible for ensuring that any commodity and income tax legislative changes are implemented in a timely fashion.
  • Support the business with close activities, including required journal entries, tax adjustments, installments, and account reconciliations.
  • Liaise with internal / external audit teams as required, and support SOX cycles as required.
  • Partake and support legal entity simplification initiatives, including the review of any tax implications.
  • Identify and communication tax risks or opportunities to the business.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3 + years of accounting, audit, or tax related experience. Working knowledge of Canadian GAAP, the Income Tax Act and month/quarterend reporting processes.
  • Extensive experience working with financial systems including but not limited to Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, Business Objects and/or other related tools.

Desired Characteristics

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability working in cross functional teams or in matrixed organization with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows.
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.
