The role of Manager, Digital & Connected Aircraft Services is responsible for the technical development, the service delivery, the performance monitoring, and the administration of our connected aircraft services.

The foundation of our connected aircraft program is a newly developed Aircraft Health Management System (AHMS) which keeps the aircraft connected to customers and to the Bombardier support teams in flight and on the ground, enabling data-driven decisions, quicker response to maintenance issues and increased customer satisfaction.


In your role, you will:

  • Lead the deployment and sustaining of the Smart Link Plus service, Bombardier's connected Aircraft Health Management System (AHMS) program, on all Bombardier Aircraft.
  • Be responsible for the technical development of new phases of the connected aircraft program, including aircraft and engine health, in collaboration with Engineering, Technical Services and Support, Suppliers, Programs.
  • Drive the team and collaborators to find creative and innovative technical solutions to meet development schedule and performance specifications.
  • Lead the operational team responsible for the Smart Link Plus service delivery in providing an exceptional customer experience, growing adoption, and ensuring strong customer satisfaction.
  • Be accountable for the development and implementation of new connected aircraft services.
  • Align stakeholders on strategic decisions and address escalations in a timely manner.
  • Lead the sustaining program management activities of the Connected Aircraft services.
  • Participate in trade events, support technical workshops within the organization.
  • Develop and coach team members in key competencies including technical proficiency, project management, business acumen, impact and influence, and customer focus.
  • Define and track personal objectives for team members in Performance Management Process (PMP) and develop and track team member's progress to Personal Development Plans (PDP).
  • Recruit personnel as required to fill gaps in team capability.
  • Manage department budget, including approval and control of employee expenses.

Qualifications

  • You have a university degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, aerospace, electronics, or software, with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the aerospace industry.
  • You have experience in a management role or demonstrated leadership with a minimum of five (5) years of management experience.
  • You have experience in Product Development, with an ability to drive crossfunctional execution.
  • You have a MBA is a definite asset alternatively significant business experience as a requirement.
  • You have indepth knowledge of the aviation industry, including technical aspects, e.g. existing and emerging aviation technologies.
  • You must have strong oral and written English communications skills. Functional French communication skills considered an asset.
  • You are capable of presenting complex ideas to a senior audience in a compelling manner, and also capable of presenting products to a refined, distinguished audience, ex. business aircraft customers.
  • You have strong business & financial acumen, strategic mindset, easily switches between micro and big picture view.
  • You possess strong leadership skills (active listening, influence, supportive, decisive)
  • You must be able to travel periodically (515%)
