Aerial / Tower Cellular Technician (All Levels) - Truro, Canada - Vertical Specialties Inc.

Description

Vertical Specialties Inc is looking for Wireless/Telecom Tower Technicians for installation and upgrading of cellular and broadcast sites in the maritimes.

Location of main office to be determined, however we are currently basing in Halifax - HRM.

This work requires a high level of physical fitness and extensive travel.

This is a high risk job and Vertical Specialties Inc has a "Fit For Work " policy that does not tolerate drug impairment at work and requires consent to drug and alcohol testing at any time.

It also requires the ability to drive.

With this in mind, we will require the following to be presented:

• Drivers Abstract

Background Check with needs to specifically include offences for:

• Drugs/alcohol (directly related to the job and our fit to work policy and client restrictions.
• Drinking/Drugs/Driving offences (as driving is a large part of the job)
• Weapons and violence/abuse (Part of company policy and Canada Labour Code. We have to assess workplace violence and this would be part of that policy/procedure).
• Any other criminal charges would present in this search.

Work includes:

• Climbing structures that may be in excess of 500 feet.
• Rigging and using hoisting equipment.
• Installation, modification, and testing of radio equipment.
• Installation of RF, power, and fiber optic cabling.
• Travelling, working, and living in close proximity with other crew members.
• Must have experience working at height.

Travel expenses, training, and specialized equipment are provided.

Salary:
$18.00 to $30.00 /hour typical depending on experience.


Suitable or desired experience:

• Rope Access
• Rock Climbing
• Iron Worker (climbing, not aerial lift)
• Construction Linesperson
• General Labour (varied outdoor, hands on)
• Rigging experience

Desirable Courses/Certifications:

• Work at Height
• WHMIS
• Fire Safety
• Any Telecom Based Training or Education

• Drivers License (Standard

• G
• Class 5)
• First Aid
• Rigging
• Any technical training (cabling, fiber optics)
• Supervisor (for a foreperson)

*NOTE: It terms of listing telecommunications experience, we're talking about physical installation work such as data cabling or actual tower based construction and telecommunications cabling experience.


Salary:
$18.00-$30.00 per hour
