The Opportunity:


The Painter responds to requests for the preparation, patching, finishing, and maintaining of all surfaces including wood, plaster, drywall, concrete, brick, etc.

by recognized procedures and techniques of the painting trade. The Painter mixes colors, orders supplies and necessary tools and maintains records. The Painter also tapes, sands, finishes drywall material and finishes or refinishes new or old wood furniture


Roles and Responsibilities:

Reporting to Manager, Facilities Maintenance, below are some key accountabilities:

  • Perform surface preparation on new and existing surfaces.
  • Be competent and proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power equipment and precisionbuilt machinery.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with safety, quality, environmental and production standards required by industry.
  • Calculate areas and relate these calculations to required material. Research products and associated costs, determine requirements and place orders.
  • Set up scaffolding.
  • Ensures that proper health and safety documents are obtained for all hazardous goods purchased.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:


  • The Painter must possess specialized knowledge of the painting trade
  • 10 or more years of painting experience.
  • They must have expertise in painting with a brush, a roller, and spraying equipment.
  • Must be comfortable working from heights and have strong manual dexterity.

Special Requirements:


  • Work may be interior or exterior. The Painter works from ladders and scaffolding and must stand for long periods of time, often doing work with arms raised over head.
  • Works with hazardous materials such as paint thinners and removers.
  • Required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Employment Terms and Benefits
:


  • This position pays $25.12 per hour working up to 37.5 hours per week on a standard schedule.
