The Shift:

Monday to Friday - 6:00pm-2:00am

The Opportunity:

-
Being a delivery driver for Desco means you are the final connection between the Company and our valued customers; offering professional and courteous service with a focus on relationship building and problem solving._

Perform the delivery of product to customers and branches according to the assigned delivery route.
Pick up return merchandise from customers and suppliers; ensuring proper documents are used and obtain appropriate signatures where required.
Complete all necessary delivery and control documents (i.e. Driver Log Book, Delivery Run Sheets, etc.) according to established procedures, remitting as required.
Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks for deliveries, as well as the offloading of material directly to the properly assigned areas in the warehouse.
Be first point of contact for issues with regards to deliveries, maintains professional code of conduct at the customer and Branch locations.
Adhere to all Ministry of Transportation requirements, as well as the Fleet Safety Guidelines of the Company.
Complete daily circlecheck inspections of vehicle and any required inspection documentation, remitting as required.
Report maintenance and repair issues of truck to Supervisor in a timely manner.
Ensure product is safely secured inside the truck prior to vehicle movement and during transport.
Maintains clean and orderly cab and box; ensures security of product and vehicle at all times.
Provide feedback to Supervisor on process improvement opportunities. Reports job site progress and new development to Supervisor.
Report incidents/accidents to Supervisor immediately.
Assist warehouse team with putting away stock or yard material when there is downtime between deliveries or as directed by the supervisor.

What You Offer:

Valid Class A Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement (Z)
Clean Driver's Abstract/CVOR
Minimum of 23 Years' experience as a Delivery Driver
Previous experience manually offloading customer product orders at delivery locations
Previous warehouse experience, an asset
A strong safety and compliance mindset
Ability to perform physically demanding work
Strong communication and problemsolving skills; with a customer service orientation
Positive attitude; with a keen interest in learning our business
