- Recruiting, interviewing applicants, and making hiring recommendations to the store manager
- Providing input on terminations, promotions, demotions, pay rates, and performance evaluations
- Communicating store and Home Depot objectives to associates
- Coaching and developing associates through on-floor coaching and written evaluations
- Establishing clear career paths for associates to reduce turnover
- Ensuring operational excellence in all Back End areas
- Managing Associate staffing schedules according to truck demands
- Overseeing proper merchandise receiving and delivery to the sales floor
- Keeping the store 'Grand Opening Day Ready' daily
- Developing action plans based on shift demands
- Ensuring Receiving and Freight Teams work efficiently together to prepare the store daily
- Minimizing shrink and maintaining safety standards
- Using the Chalk Talk process to communicate sales and promotions
- Assessing training needs and implementing improvement plans for associates
- Training associates on sales and inventory reports
- Completing daily inspections and safety audits
- Managing hazardous materials and driver safety
- Participating in safety awareness programs
- Setting store standards for Receiving and Freight team activities
- Developing sales and profitability strategies with the Store Manager and other ASMs
- Verifying deposits, deliveries, refunds, etc.
- Ensuring store opens and closes per procedures
- Responding to emergencies as needed
- Performing other duties assigned by the Store Manager
- Minimum 1 year in current position and meeting performance standards
- Minimum 2 years of management experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Computer proficiency

Position Purpose:
Night Operations Assistant Store Managers (ASMs) are responsible for overseeing Back End Operations, such as Receiving, RTV, and Freight. Night Ops ASMs work closely with the Fulfillment Team ASM to ensure their stores are prepared for each day.
They achieve this by focusing on proper merchandising and optimizing operational efficiency. Night Ops ASMs play a vital role in upholding safety standards and compliance storewide.
Additionally, they collaborate with the Store Manager and other ASMs to enhance overall store profitability, address issues, and mentor Associates.
To succeed in this role, they need strong planning, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.They should also be skilled in leading associates and working with the Store Manager and other ASMs to meet objectives.
