Delivery Driver - Amherst, Canada - Rideau Supply
Description
Rideau Supply is looking to fill the position of Delivery Driver - Warehouse Associate at our Amherst Warehouse, under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor.
You will primarily be responsible for delivering orders to customers when working as a driver and picking/packing orders, loading/unloading trucks, and other warehousing duties depending on business requirements.
Warehouse Worker Responsibilities
- Heavy lifting required (60 lbs)
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Pick, pack and inspect/verify shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off; reject damaged goods
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads in accordance with established safety requirements
- Provide feedback to management regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
- Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all times
- Compile, verify, record, and process documentation
- Report any discrepancies in inventory to management
- Operate lifting devices such as forklifts and hoists
- Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices
- Tag, mark, or label stock items and ensure they are placed in correct storage location
Delivery Driver Responsibilities:
- Comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers' hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions
- Maintain accurate and complete records associated with the dispatch of vehicles
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
- Perform pretrip, en route, and posttrip inspections on vehicle and load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness
- Maintain contact with Supervisor in accordance with travel plan
- Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift, including daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, and hours of service, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
- Check all loadrelated documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
- Provide feedback to management regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
- Clean and make minor repairs to vehicle to maintain appropriate service levels
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- The position will require you to drive a 5 ton flat bed, 3 ton cube van, and one ton van.
- The position is 5 days a week some overtime required.
- Should have the ability to lift up to 60 lbs,
- Experience operating a Moffett(fork lift) an asset, but training will be provided

- warehouse: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Class 3 License with Air brake endorsement (preferred)
