Interviewing NOW for an IPM Scout

Responsibilities:

Inspect and monitor plants for symptoms or signs of pests or diseases such as (spider mite, aphids, thrips, botrytis, phytophthora, fusarium, etc.).
Provide a report on findings (complete a scout sheet) to the Agronomist.
Comply with all Health & Safety and SOP procedures and policies.
Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

Secondary school diploma or equivalent (required); previous experience in a greenhouse or hort/ag environment or 2year degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field an asset.
Intermediate level of computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Own reliable transportation required. Mileage paid.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and punctual.
Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in a hot/humid environment and at heights.
