- Lead control systems projects from inception to completion, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and budgets are met.
- Design and develop control systems, including hardware and software components, to meet the specific requirements of a project.
- Develop and implement control algorithms and logic.
- Integrate control systems with existing or new equipment, machinery, or processes.
- Test and debug control systems to ensure proper functionality and adherence to specifications. Identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions through systematic troubleshooting and debugging techniques.
- Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, user manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resourcing, including managing the procurement of necessary equipment and materials.
- Define project objectives, scope, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders, including identifying opportunities for additional automation and electrification scope within the project.
- Manage project risks and issues, including developing contingency plans and mitigating strategies, and communicating progress and challenges to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project milestones.
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership, including presenting project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and technologists.
- Assist with the development of proposals.
- Ensure compliance with ANDRITZ Quality System.
- Embody, demonstrate, and reinforce the ANDRITZ core values and behaviours.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering with a focus on automation and electrification technologies.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial engineering; preferably in Pulp & Paper.
- Consulting engineering experience an asset.
- Registered as an EIT or P.Eng., or AScT in British Columbia.
- Strong understanding of automation and electrification technologies, including knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Project management experience an asset.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites.
