Applications are invited for the regular position of part-time Assistant Recreation Coordinator in the Athletics and Student Engagement Division. The starting salary is $24.05 /hr for a 24 hour work week. Additional hours may be required at peak times during the year such as start or end of term. This position is located at the Welland Campus.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the development and scheduling of extramural sporting teams, including cricket and other sports, based on budgetary allocations
  • Booking tournaments and venues for tryouts and practices, following through with administrative duties in a timely fashion
  • Coordinating coaching, operations and communication for extramural team, including tryouts, practices and tournament participation
  • Safety checking equipment and procuring replacements as required, replacing and/or ordering uniforms as needed, ensuring treatment and care of all equipment, uniforms and facilities used for training and event play
  • Assisting Campus Recreation Coordinator on intramural and recreational activities, including scheduling, promotions on social media and website and recruiting
  • Coordinating all travel and communication needs with respect to extramural teams

Qualifications:


  • Minimum three (3) year diploma/degree in Fitness and Health Promotion, Recreation, Sport Management, or similar field of study
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a similar field
  • Coaching Certification and/or First Aid/CPR is considered an asset
  • Excellent organization and problemsolving skills
