What to Expect- Tesla has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Assembly Supervisor to join the Afternoon Shift Production Engineering team at the Tesla Toronto Automation. The hours for this opportunity are Monday-Thursday 3:30pm to 1:00am, Friday 2:30pm to 11:00pm
We are seeking an energetic, skilled, cost-conscious, team-oriented individual to be responsible for the performance of Mechanical Assembly Technicians on shift.
The incumbent will manage a team of technicians to ensure that they perform at a high level while meeting the needs of the production floor.
The individual will be responsible for all Mechanical Assembly related metrics for their shift.He/she will performance manage their team to generate the highest value from every employee while maintaining a high level of technical ability and driving towards quality and schedule.
What You'll Do- Lead a team of Mechanical Assembly Technicians
Interact with the manufacturing team members to determine outstanding part levels and lead times
Work closely with the Engineering team on modifications or changes that would impact the overall equipment build
Drive improvement activities across the shift to increase team knowledge and capability
Adhere to strict 5S standards and maintain cleanliness on the floor and within automation cells
Provide support for new equipment installation, startup, and hand over
Improve preventative maintenance activities to decrease overall downtime
Troubleshoot down equipment to root cause and suggest long-term countermeasures for elimination
Observe all safety policies during the execution of required tasks
Complete requested activities as assigned
Work from schematics, diagrams, layouts, defined plans, and written/verbal instructions
Required to work with and around hazardous areas and hazardous chemicals and materials
What You'll Bring
- 2 years of college/technical school or equivalent work experience
Applicable documented Training and/or Certifications a plus
Must understand general manufacturing processes, automation, and controls (Tool and Die, CNC & Automation are preferred)
Must demonstrate reliability, initiative, and desire to learn
