Total Fire Solutions, a division of the Total Group of Companies, is an industrial service company specializing in fire, rescue, medical, and safety services across Canada and the U.S.


We are seeking personnel to assist with a month-long project to perform annual fire hose & appliance testing (NFPA Compliant) with the City of Vancouver.

This position includes the testing, loading, and data entry of fire hoses and appliances.


This work begins June 3rd and is happening in a fast-paced environment at a fire hall by the UBC campus.

Applicants will need to be in good physical condition and be willing to work approx. 8 hrs. / day Monday to Saturday.

08:00 to 16:30. The project is planned to start June 3rd and run until June 31st.

Applicants should be physically fit and able to lift lengths of fire hose for the entire shift.

The fire hose sizes vary in diameter from 1.5" up to 5", and applicants will have to fill, drain, and re-roll hoses once testing is complete.

The work is primarily outdoors and will happen rain or shine.


In addition to being physically fit preference may be given to those with fire service experience and those living close to the University of BC Firehall #10, where the testing will take place.


The rate of pay for this position is $25.00/hr, and there will be an opportunity for performance bonuses in addition to the hourly wage if the applicant can exceed certain benchmarks.

The job will be 5 minutes from the UBC Campus.

  • Authorized to work in Canada and possess a valid SIN
  • Be 19 years of age or older
  • Be physically fit with the ability to lift 5075 lbs
  • Be willing and able to work outdoors, in varying weather conditions
