    Description

    Purpose:

    Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategic Communications and Community Engagement, this position provides administrative and outreach support to the Strategic Communications & Community Engagement (SCCE) unit, and the Glendon School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA).

    The Administrative and Outreach Assistant's role is two-fold.


    The position is responsible for:
    overall administration and coordination of day-to-day operational activities.

    and assistance in development and delivery of communications content for the purposes of promoting Glendon College and the Glendon School of Public and International Affairs.

    Education:

    College diploma in a related field such as French, English, Communication, Public and International Affairs, or some post-secondary courses with two years' of related experience in communication/administration in addition to the minimum experience requirement listed below.

    Experience:

    Two years' related experience, including in communications (such as using mixed media, social media). Experience in effective technical writing in English and in French required. Experience in public relations, marketing, preferably in a university setting an asset.

    Skills:

    Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to communications and administration. Experience planning meetings and organizing conferences and events. Committee support and minute taking. Ability to maintain and update websites. Electronic scheduling. Effective oral and written communication skills. Dealing courteously and effectively with people at all levels. Attending accurately to detail. Maintaining confidentiality. Working independently and as part of a team. Excellent organizational skills including setting priorities and meeting deadlines. Proven ability to work under high volume pressure. Good analytical and organizational skills. Exercising good judgment and initiative. Excellent project management skills. Willingness to learn new computer systems. Punctual and reliable. Familiarity with the graduate program environment is an asset. Demonstrated experience navigating the web, communicating electronically, and working knowledge of Wordpress, Photoshop and all social media.
