JOB OVERVIEW
The Shipper Receiver/Material Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of all inbound/outbound shipments, loading /unloading of delivery trucks, warehousing of goods and periodic inventory counts.
The Shipper Receiver/Material Coordinator will receive items and ensure shipments are inspected, sorted, counted and stored in the appropriate place or stocked on shelves as needed.
The Shipper Receiver/Material Coordinator will monitor shelves to restock as needed. We are looking to add someone to our team who is eager to learn, detail-orientated and a team player. It is crucial that the Shipper Receiver promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using handling equipment.
- Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
- Daily inspection of Forklift and other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
- Assemble containers and crates, pack goods.
- Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks.
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods with the help of QC.
- Ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient put away of materials and goods into their storage locations.
- Work closely with assembly and fabrication to flag and deliver parts halting production.
- Assist with movement of material from staging area to assembly.
- Put away all material deliveries in a timely manner on racks or in bins and remove packaging immediately.
- Securely fasten all shipments to trucks leaving facility.
- Work with Shipping Receiving Administrator to ensure all forms are completed as required for trucks leaving and validate packing slip matches shipment.
- Provide backup support to Shipping Receiving Administrator during high volume, vacation coverage, etc.
- Maintain adequate packaging and pallet inventories for upcoming shipments.
- Clearly label all material in shipping and receiving area and follow up on unknown deliveries.
- Keep kitting area clean and organized.
- Flag low level items to purchasing for reorder.
- Kit items from stock to bin for assembly dept.
- Measure and request trucks as needed for systems and shipments departing.
- Attend daily assembly meeting and take notes on jobs to move/items required to proceed/ trucks to be arranged etc.
- Identify and work to provide a solution for potential safety risks.
- Perform preoperational checks of material handling equipment.
- Perform various housekeeping activities as assigned.
- Follow all work instructions and procedures at all times.
- Assist with inventory and cycle counts.
Requirements:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of High School or equivalent
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, professional attitude.
- Excellent organizational / time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and good problemsolving skills.
- Previous experience in Shipping Receiving is an asset.
- Mechanical knowledge an asset.
- Experience in custom fab or automation an asset.
- You have a get it done attitude and are skilled at removing barriers.
- You operate with a team spirit, not with ego; you want everyone, including yourself, to do their best work; you see your success as dependent on the success of the team.
- You have the ability to think beyond the needs of the customer to point out errors and potential issues.
- You are able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions, cope effectively with complexity and change, quickly understand and absorb new information and respond appropriately.
