    Description
    We are looking for Assistant Care Manager to join our KitsCare team

    This position assumes a role in providing advisory to the management and team on the best practices to create an environment to the residents, staff and visitors that is safe, secure, healthy, and happy leading to excellence and quality of care.

    To provide a high level of leadership supporting care, nursing, dietary, maintenance and housekeeping Staff. To provide a high level of clinical leadership and support to nursing and care staff.

    And to plan, organize, facilitate, and promote the interdisciplinary approach within the home through the nursing, dietary, recreation, housekeeping and maintenance departments.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Plan, organize and supervise care staff daily to ensure excellent care is delivered to resident.
    Acquire and demonstrate knowledge of the organization and policies of the client.
    Advise on improvement of company policies and governmental laws and regulations.

    Assist with reviews, evaluations, and implementation of policies in coordination with the views and wishes of the TCG Care management team for HCA/LPN staff.

    Planning, organizing, and directing care delivery in conformance with established company policy, law and governmental regulatory agencies.
    Develop action plans, provide expertise in response to client needs, and support and advise project teams.
    Ensure that ADLs are maintained, followed, and updated.
    Facilitate and coordinate the orientation of new staff.
    Coordinate HCA & LPN lines and break schedule.
    Complete 'Rounds' to each neighborhood at least 2 times daily. Check communication books, talk with staff and residents for input, follow up with any care concerns immediately.
    Provides input for daily report around care or staff issues to Care Managers
    Be aware of onsite safety and environmental requirements. (OH&S)
    Assist input with employee performance appraisals.
    Schedule and attend meetings (OH&S, RCA/LPN,) in conjunction with the Care Manager, help with new resident move-in.

    Mentor and monitor the care staff on care issues including: prevention of pressure sores, specimen collection, incident reports, behavior monitoring, sleep charts, falls etc.

    Report maintenance issues with lift equipment to ensure it is safe for use.
    Ensure excellent direct care is being maintained through teaching, mentoring, and education to care staff.
    Assist Care Manager to complete care audits as per audit schedule.
    Work with scheduler to address scheduling issues and shift handling.
    Provide management hire recommendations, assist in the hiring process of new care staff. Interviews, paperwork etc.
    Assist with organizing and administering orientation with all new care staff employees.
    Initially develop staff lines/schedules, post and award lines (in consultation with management) to team members.
    Work collaboratively with staffing designated, to identify and resolve day-to day staffing issues to meet staffing requirements. On designed days off, evenings and weekends may be required "on call basis" to assist with last minutes scheduling changes (i.e. sick calls), including but not limited to shift calls.
    On a weekend assignment require to hold the scheduling phone and cover short calls.
    Investigates incident and accident reports.

    Ensures adherence to policies and procedures as they pertain to WorkSafe BC regulations and all other health and safety codes.

    Schedule and attend meetings (OH&S) in conjunction with the Care Manager.
    Coordinates and performs reviews, evaluations, and implementation of policies

    Executes performance management, sanctions, and potential termination of care personnel in accordance with the protocols and procedures set forth by the "Client" and the specific health authorities.

    Examine workplace metrics related to safety, absenteeism, overtime, engagement, retention, and set goals and action plans.
    Assist with planning, organizing and direction of care delivery in conformance with established company policy, law and governmental regulatory agencies
    Assist Care Managers as required.
    Other duties as required

    Required:
    Must hold a current HCA registration and in good standing.
    It is an expectation that Managers will pursue ongoing education.

    Must have a commitment to excellence in Care of the older person in a Continuing Care environment.
    Must be committed to working with residents with dementia.
    Ability to work independently but also guide and lead a team
    Has a commitment to ongoing professional development for self and others
    Physically and mentally able to perform duties for above position
    Be a role model for other team members.
    You will be working at Braddan Private Hospital or Point Grey Private Hospital.
