Temporary & Permanent Positions


The Space Planning Advisor manages and triages space planning requests and their related implications on staffing, room planning, master planning and corporate priorities.

Liaises with the Space Planning Collaborative Committee, Medical Affairs and Clinical Departments for review and implementation of approved space planning requests, new hire placements, moves and associated space management.

Working closely with users and other team members to develop interior space planning solutions and designs for existing and new facilities.


The Space Planning Advisor will ensure the timely identification of space issues/problems and provide necessary solutions related to space design for presentation to the Space Planning Collaborative.

The Space Planning Advisor will be responsible for maintaining all space records in accordance with departmental and corporate policies.

Rate of Pay:
$34.71 per hour - $43.40 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Duration of contract**:
One year, with possibility of renewal


Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of a 3 year College diploma in architecture/architecture technology, interior design, or a combination of education and related project management experience preferred.
  • 3 years of recent, related experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Experience in space planning in an institutional setting is preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints
  • Ability to interpret and critically analyze functional space related needs in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to develop budgets, track expenses, manage time effectively and develop schedules
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD software, Archibus software (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge/awareness of Ontario Building Code, AODA, MOH Space Planning Guidelines, and other applicable legislation
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Mission, Vision and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
