IT Assistant Supervisor (I)

Information Technology Services (ITS) - Client Services

Education Centre


Applicants will be considered in the following order:1) Qualified probationary, temporary and Temporary Hourly Rated (THR) ESS/OSSTF employees.

2) Qualified external applicants (includes employees from other Bargaining Units)


Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day leadership to section staff by managing and monitoring processes and workflow, mentoring staff, and providing assistance related to the successful operation of IT;
Assist the Supervisor, Service Desk, in determining goals and expectations; in maintaining awareness of developments, patterns, and concerns; and in managing projects and initiatives;
Create, maintain, and/or contribute to documentation on IT Services' procedures, processes, standards, activities, etc.;
Manage and support client service requests for WRDSB systems;
Maintain awareness of and engagement with the WRDSB Strategic Plan, system initiatives, and priorities with current and emerging technologies, trends, developments, and best practices;
Keep abreast with the latest changes in technology and provide advice to IT management team on efficient and cost effective tools and processes as it relates to IT Services;
Liaise with client service stakeholders on an ongoing basis;
Provide training or advise training requirements for IT staff, including in
- school technicians;
Liaise with other IT management and staff to fulfill the mandate and goals of the department;
Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

College diploma along with 5 years of related work experience in a field of information technology and customer service is required;
University degree along with 5 years of related work experience in a field of information technology and customer service would be an asset;
Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness as a team leader, managing processes and projects, with the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision;
Completed recognized leadership and client service certification courses would be an asset;
Excellent interpersonal skills and a well-developed sense of client service, including the ability to deal tactfully with staff in stressful situations;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, problem solve and make decisions under tight timelines;
Demonstrated project coordination skills and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines with attention to detail;
Initiative and forward thinking demonstrated through continued professional development;
Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
