Description

Alavida Lifestyles is looking for a
Temporary Full Time Driver to service our retirement homes located between
Central Ottawa and Orleans, ON.

Under the direction of the Concierge Manager, the Driver provides safe transportation for Alavida Residents to and from activities and appointments, as well as courier services between the different retirement homes and Head Office.

As part of Alavida Lifestyles' Mandatory Vaccination Policy, all employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination as a condition of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES_

Provide doortodoor transportation services for Residents
Assist wheelchair and ambulatory Residents in and out of the vehicle
Secure all riders with seat belts and/or wheelchair locks
Participates in preventative maintenance program for vehicles and maintains records as indicated
Obeys all traffic and chicle laws, and is responsible for any fines or tickets relating to the manner in which the vehicle is operated
Communicate with receptionist and Residents to get informed about requests and departure times
Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties in between rides
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS_

At least 2 years of experience as a chauffeur or operating a commercial vehicle designed to transport at least four (4) passengers
Experience working with the elderly
Strong knowledge of the Ottawa area and able to read and understand maps
Reliable, dependable and punctual in use of work time
Excellent communication skills
