    Job Description:

    De Beers Group of Companies has an opportunity for a motivated and energetic individual to join the Site Services team at the Gahcho Kué Mine Site based in the Northwest Territories. Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor will be working a two (2) weeks in / two (2) weeks out rotation, the incumbent will safely and effectively operate equipment and take responsibility for equipment and tools provided to carry out tasks. The ideal candidate will be one who enjoys multi-tasking, is results-oriented and is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.

    Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with development of planned maintenance procedures and maintenance schedules;
  • Maintain longevity of equipment and facilities through proper operation and maintenance;
  • Continuous evaluation of operations; recommending improvements and modifications;
  • Ensure critical and operational spare parts have been identified and min/max inventory levels are adequate for 100% reliability;
  • Perform and interpret standardized process control tests and adjust plant equipment and process appropriately;
  • Collection of data for preparation of daily logs and routine reports;
  • Prepare reports based on monitoring requirements as set forth by the permit approval;
  • Maintain and repair process equipment and lab equipment;
  • Maintain STP/WTP chemical feed systems;
  • Test treated and raw samples as per CDWG;
  • Knowledge of MBR wastewater treatment principles and practices;
  • Have a good understanding of drawings, prints and applicable codes;
  • Installing or retrofitting equipment as per specifications;
  • Ability to manage multiple complex technical projects;
  • Document service and installation actions by completing electronic forms, reports, logs, and records;
  • Maintain critical and consumable spare inventories;
  • Ability to effectively manage change / priorities;
  • Perform other duties outside of role specific responsibilities as assigned
  • Basic computer skills; MS Office, Outlook. SAP experience an asset.

    • Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the role resides within the Site Services department.

    Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Operator in training certification (For Class 2 Plants) in good standing with the ability to obtain up to the highest Classification of the facility. Additional trade certifications (instrumentation, electrician, millwright, and pipefitter) considered an asset.
  • Ideal candidate with 5 + years relevant experience.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or other applicable trade.
  • Preference will be given to Members of the Deninu Kué, Lutsel K'e Dene First Nation, North Slave Métis Alliance, Northwest Territory Métis Nation, Tlicho Government, or Yellowknives Dene First Nation, followed by non-indigenous residents of the Northwest Territories;
