The Property Team:


The Property team is responsible for driving innovation and design excellence across all of the JD Group facias on a Global scale.

The department designs, builds, and delivers inspiring commercial retail environments for our consumers to maximize their shopping experience while maximizing profitability for the Group.

Our in-house team of experts manages all aspects of property, from; site selection and consumer insight, acquisitions, estate management, design/architecture, project management, cost control, and maintenance.


The Role:


Key Duties / Responsibilities:


Project Delivery:


  • Deliver a program of store build and refurbishment projects (approx. 810 annually)
  • Assist with bids and cost analysis
  • Onboarding vendors
  • Issuing purchase orders for subtrades
  • Create work packages, including sitespecific notes and tender documentation
  • Maintain store construction schedules
  • Collaborate with Global HQ design team members and local architects to ensure the Global design standards are upheld
  • Review, qualify, and negotiate all projectrelated costs ensuring they are in line with budgets
  • Identify, analyze and present resolutions to the stakeholders for construction issues and/or conflicts promptly
  • Review all RFIs for accuracy and process adherence
  • Continually review project processes regularly to deliver the best results, improving efficiency and streamlining working methodologies
  • Undertaking internal project reviews to identify time, cost, and quality efficiencies
  • Postmortem review (postopening) to ensure the Head of Projects and the greater team know project strengths and opportunities to exploit in future projects.
  • Help to develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Assist with project closeout documents
  • Any other tasks or actions associated with the planning and delivery of capital projects within your assigned program of works.

Cost:


  • Assist in managing individual project budgets ranging from $350k to $1m
  • Formulate pricing schedules and tender documents to allow each project to be tendered, including the review and analysis of returned estimates to ensure the correct GC/subcontractors are employed and all budgets are inline with approved costs
  • Work with the local market and Global teams to review all project and capital budgets using current and historical costs, including the management and updating of such documents for future use
  • Maintain and report on all budgeting aspects of each project aligning to company standards
  • Provide accurate, uptodate cost analysis for all construction projects under your remit with regular reviews to the Head of Construction and broader stakeholders
  • Consider, negotiate, and submit change orders to the Head of Projects aligning with Global standards and project budgets
  • Contribute to cost reduction methods

General:


  • Set, maintain, and communicate the standards of excellence and Global property requirements that deliver bestinclass retail stores
  • Build project teams and harness strong working relationships with both GCs and 3 rd party suppliers.
  • Partner with local and Global teams to create storespecific programs that define the project scope, delivery timelines, and budgetary requirements
  • Monitor capital projects accurately throughout the program duration to ensure no cost creep
  • Partner with internal and external teams on the general management of projects and costs relating to General Contractors, supply chain, and internal departments
  • Provide weekly reports and project recaps in line with Global requirements and best practice
  • Drive continuous improvement with regard to store build, cost reduction, and property delivery processes
  • Build solid relationships with the Property real estate team, procurement, retail, and all store delivery team from the inception of the project through to completion and closeout
  • Participate in the department training requirements, educating and developing a team of projectspecific experts to deliver results in line with Global standards.

Position Requirements:


  • Full driving license and Passport
  • Min 3+ years Project Management exp
