The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy for a specified customer account(s). Completes inventory audits, investigates variances, find root causes and report findings. Recommends improvements to warehouse processes to prevent inventory loss, improve quality and increase productivity.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains inventory accuracy, both physically and systematically by monitoring, validating and tracking inventory moves associated with all processes
  • Investigates and escalates inventory discrepancies, and strives to continuously improve procedures and processes to improve quality and accuracy
  • Ensure accurate setup and maintenance and adherence of warehouse management system including but not limited to item master, footprints, locations maintenance, replenishment, and cycle counts
  • Schedules, coordinates and performs planned cycle counts, count near zero, and physical counts in accordance with internal expectations and customer requirements
  • Investigates inventory variances, adjusts inventory records if necessary, determines root cause and recommends corrective action
  • Coordinate's control of damaged and defective products, and customer claims, ensuring any inventory changes are accounted for and properly processed to the expectations of the customer
  • Provide feedback and where necessary, reports to manager and supervisors regarding operational accuracy from the results of inbound and outbound audits, inventory counts, and system related user errors
  • Communicate with managers, supervisors, and customer regarding inventory issues including the existence, cause, and resolution of inventory variances
  • Achieve set targets (described below) and objectives relating to inventory control management, provides communication and suggests inventory and process related improvements
  • Works closely with operations team to control inventory flow and placement to maximize efficiency
  • Report inventory control activity and performance results as further defined by your manager and customer service level agreements
  • Where applicable responsible for food safety within the facility
  • Create and maintain up todate inventory control procedures
  • Assist where necessary in training team members on inventory SOPs

EDUCATION

  • Completion of secondary school diploma preferred or the equivalent in combination of education and experience
  • College diploma in Logistics Management is an asset

EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years warehouse experience, with
  • Two (2) years in inventory control

COMPETENCIES SKILLS

  • Strong organization and analytical skills
  • Ability to anticipate problems, identify root cause and solve problems to resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work in a customer focused environment
  • Able to adapt to change and easily adopt new methods and practices required to meet changing business needs
  • Ability to instruct and train operations team members, and ensure adherence to relevant inventory control SOPs
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and WMS system as applied to inventory control operations

  • Report any hazards in the workplace to the supervisor/manager
  • Must not use or operate equipment in a manner that would endanger self or others
