Job Summary


The Design Manager of Research & Service Design will start and lead a small team of researchers and service designers.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering meaningful insights and impactful design solutions that support the company's Build, Sell and Serve phases of Equinix's organization journey.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct and oversee researchinformed experience maps to uncover customer and employee insights, inform product and service design, and drive innovation
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify and prioritize design research initiatives, and align them with the company's strategy and goals
  • Develop and execute a design research roadmap, and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources
  • Lead and manage the service design practice, and work with teams to design and implement endtoend customer experiences that are seamless, intuitive, and emotionally engaging
  • Foster a culture of design thinking and service design within the company, and provide guidance to design research and service design team members
  • Communicate research findings and design recommendations to stakeholders and the leadership team, and gain buyin for design initiatives

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in design research and service design, with a track record of delivering impactful design solutions for enterprise organizations
  • Strong collaboration and mentorship skills
  • Understanding of design research methodologies and techniques, and experience leading and conducting research projects
  • Experience with service design methodologies and a track record of designing and delivering endtoend customer experiences
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design research findings and design recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • A Master's degree in Design Research, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field preferred but not required
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

  • San Francisco, CA /

Bay Area:
$143,000 to $235,000

  • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $137,000 to $225,000
  • Colorado, Nevada,

Rhode Island:
$124,000 to $204,000


Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.

Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
