    Description

    Reporting to the Forman, the Pipelayer Helper is responsible for providing physical labor support to the pipelayer during all phases of construction and production. ​​

    General Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and move construction materials around the worksite.
  • Execute traffic control plans by placing, removing, covering, and uncovering traffic control signs, cones, barricades, and other traffic control devices. Direct traffic when necessary.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
  • Using a rake or shovel, spread gravel and other construction materials for padding or setting concrete structures.
  • Shoveling test holes by locating markers/flags and quarantining any exposed pipes. Mark test holes with stakes, paint, or ribbon.
  • Ensure the worksite is organized and free of clutter, rubble, and garbage.
  • Shovel around live utilities to expose them without damaging them.
  • Operate equipment, such as pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers.
  • Other construction and general labor related duties as required.

    The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

    Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma or preferred.
  • Class 5 driver's license.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 40 LBS on a regular basis.

    • Note: We promote a safe work environment with a substance testing program.

    Note: The job requires being located in Grande Prairie for the season; this is not a fly-in or fly-out position.
