ACCOUNTING MANAGER / ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Accounting Manager / Administrative Assistant to join our team The role will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting functions for our boutique consulting firm.

This includes managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close out processes, financial reporting, and maintaining an adequate system of accounting records.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daytoday bookkeeping activities using Quickbooks.
  • Ensure that the accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and accounts receivable are collected promptly.
  • Prepare and submit employee payroll semimonthly.
  • Prepare and report HST quarterly and make payments accordingly.
  • Prepare and report WSIB and make payments accordingly.
  • Prepare and report payroll liabilities monthly and make payments accordingly.
  • Generate adhoc financial reports as needed, including P&Ls and Balance Sheets.
  • Manage and administer group benefits plan and ensure the accuracy of payroll deductions.
  • Manage and administer costplus submissions as required.
  • Facilitate life insurance and group insurance renewals.
  • Perform and process monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Respond to customer and vendor inquiries as required.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting system, including client purchase orders, and identify opportunities for simplifying current financial processes and systems.
  • Manage vendor contracts and terms, and other outsourced functions as needed.
  • Support yearend processes and liaise with company accountants as needed.
  • Liaise with IT consultant as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute client invoices monthly.
  • Prepare client account statements as needed.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of formal RFP submissions.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned and required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years' experience in an accounting and finance role, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Completion of postsecondary education in Finance, Accounting, or a businessrelated field.
  • Fluency in Quickbooks accounting program is required.
  • Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent communication, timemanagement, and organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position is permanent fulltime.
  • This position can be hybrid in nature; however, most working hours are required to be inoffice.
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience and extended health and dental benefits are available.
  • Private access to onsite fitness centre is available.

Salary:
$40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
