Key Responsibilities

- Engage with and build relationship with designated portfolio of operations leaders on a regular basis in a proactive and collaborative approach regarding People and Culture initiatives
- Support with and improve People and Culture business initiatives inclusive of but not limited to employee relations, talent enhancement and system consistencies
- Collaborate with other Centers of Excellence to fulfil various People and Culture functions in relation to payroll, benefits, and employee relations
- Handle harassment, violence, and discrimination and other complaints at all stages, from receipt through investigation, conciliation, or mediation with a high level of confidentiality
- Work collaboratively with operations team, legal services, and business leaders on employee relation matters, as appropriate
- Prepare high quality written reports of the investigation, which provide a clear and logical account of the allegations, investigative work performed, key findings and conclusions, ensuring that the conclusion is evidence based
- Analyze and leverage data to positively influence change management within the organization
- Act as an internal resource to employees and leaders for questions on company best practices, policies, process, and procedures
- Collaborate with operation leaders in the development or revision of position descriptions
- Support and advise communication to operations team regarding employee title, compensation, or position changes
- Interface with management on employee related matters including progressive discipline (i.e. ensuring CBA is upheld)
- Support the onboarding/orientation process for new employees
- Maintain and update employee information in the company ERP system, Viewpoint, including changes in status, performance reviews, hire information, and end of employment details
- Maintain current knowledge of provincial employment legislation and regulations to ensure the company remains committed to best and fair employment practices
- Assist with various adhoc projects and People and Culture initiatives as required
- Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Commerce, with a specialization in Human Resources is preferred
- Minimum of three (3) experience in a human resources role
- Proven experience performing formal HR Investigations (e.g. Harassment, Discrimination, etc.)
- Experience within the construction or related industry, an asset
- Professional designation or working towards a designation in Human Resources, an asset
- Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements, an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of federal and provincial laws and legislation Able and willing to travel to various project sites and office locations (limited travel required)
