Staffing Resource Coordinator Job Description
Location:
Hybrid model of Y Women's Reporting to the General Manager, the Staffing Resource
Emergency Shelter and working from home Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the hiring of
Compensation:

The Staffing Resource Coordinator is also responsible for
Schedule: 24hrs/wk (potentially 32hrs/wk) creating and scheduling Shelter shifts and is responsible for

this position is the reviewing all payroll documentation and

*This position does not require membership to the Leadership Team and supports the front line staff with the BCGEU. This is a excluded position. carrying an afterhours phone on a rotational basis.
Major Responsibilities and Abilities:
- Participate as a key member of the Leadership Team of the Y Women's Emergency Shelter
- Provide afterhours support to front line Staff on a rotational basis and frontline coverage when required
- Recruitment for all VAWISS positions and maintaining the hiring process, ranging from job postings, booking interviews, staff onboarding, assisting in probation and annual reviews, as well as aid with staff training
- Monitor staffing requirements pertaining to CPP and BCEGU
- Ensuring all personnel files include required elements and that they are up to date on an ongoing basis
- Creating the monthly schedule of 24/7 Shelter shifts, maintaining all leave requests
- Review of Shelter timesheets and leave requests to ensure accuracy and to maintain house coverage
- Administration tasks as necessary as well as keeping contact lists, on call lists and BCGEU lists up to date
- A comprehensive working knowledge of the BCGEU Collective Agreement
- A key member of the Labour Management Committee
- Participation in internal and external committees and/or working groups
- Adherence to the YMCW YWCA Child Protection Policy
Qualifications:
- Degree in related social sciences or administrative OR related education and experience combined
- Emergency First Aid Certificate with CPR, drivers license with drivers abstract, and a clear criminal record check
Competencies:
- Commitment to the use of feminist principles and an intersectional and antioppressive lens
- Holds an understanding of the impacts of violence on women, family and the community
- Organization, communication, patience and empathy
- Communicates in a thorough, clear, timely and efficient manner
- Critical thinking and confident decision making
- Ability to work independently and ability to adapt to changing environments
- High comfort level working with a variety of software platforms to create schedules, checklists, documents, etc.
- Administrative understanding of how a non profit works
