This position is responsible for the administrative support of multiple unionized and non-unionized Group Benefits and Retirement (RRSP and pension) programs in Oracle HCM.

It is also responsible for providing guidance to our residences in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia on Group Benefits and Retirement processes for active employees and those on a leave of absence.

All duties are performed in accordance with Chartwell's vision, mission and value statements.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Point of contact and accountability for group benefits and retirement plans for residences within a given platform.
  • Validate and process Benefits enrollments due to hires, job changes, transfers, terminations etc. and manage overrides for exceptions as applicable in HCM.
  • Validate and process Retirement plan enrollments as applicable in HCM.
  • Prepare Leave of Absence forms for Group Benefits during an employee's absence from work.
  • Maintain administrative packages for group benefits and retirement plans.
  • Participate in the semiannual prorata process for applicable residences.
  • Conduct audits pertaining to eligibility and participation.
  • Ensure RRSP Application forms are forwarded to vendor on a timely basis.
  • Participate in the Leave process as determined by management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employees' personal information.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Be the ambassador and role model with the community, residents, visitors, staff, and volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a post secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business or other relevant field

years experience in benefit and retirement plan administration

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of a variety of benefit and pension plans
  • Knowledge of benefits impact to payroll
  • Strong customer service focus the ability to act tactfully, diplomatically and professionally
  • Excellent time management skills the ability to multitask, plan, and prioritize work
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Ability to prepare reports and present findings
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Computer literacy proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word and Excel)
