Job overview:


  • Manage a janitorial contract and ensure client satisfaction of services provided

  • Provide staff training and supervision (WHMIS, Health and Safety, Work techniques, Company policies and procedures, Bill 168, Accessibility, etc.)
  • Manage business relationship with the client
  • Represent Domus Building Cleaning through professionalism, ethics and service delivery

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage client communication (oral and electronic) pertaining to the services delivery as per janitorial service agreement
  • Manage and lead the cleaning supervisors and cleaning staff, fostering a productive and cohesive work environment. Develop schedules, procedures, provide training and perform regular inspections of the contracted services
  • Manage bi weekly payroll administration for the site with Head Office
  • Ensure staffing levels are adequate and coordinate job openings and hiring with Human Resources
  • Manage daily, weekly and monthly services as per janitorial service agreement
  • Manage and react in a timely manner to any special/additional building services requirements as a result of management requests (periodic / extras) or building inspections (formal and informal)
  • Manage the equipment and vehicle preventive / ongoing maintenance
  • Manage the company Health and Safety (H & S) program at the site and ensure employee adherence to company policies and procedures and all H & S related matters
  • Establish the required training to meet legislative and contractual requirements, established Standard Operating Procedures as well as Cleanroom requirements; familiarity with ISO requirements, Schedule and provide refresher training modules on a regular / as required basis
  • Provide and perform onsite training to all cleaning services staff ensuring that all personnel understand their duties and adhere to signoff of required documentation
  • Perform daily and weekly building inspections that provide a means of ensuring the work that is being done meets contract specifications and provides measurable data to track results as well as personnel performance
  • Manage site material and product inventory and ensure monthly order processing and product usage remains on budget
  • Submit "Service Requests" identifying the location and problem of any facility deficiencies to the facilities Coordinator
  • Participate in management meetings at company head office periodically
  • Other duties as required through Head Office, assisting the organization as a whole

Working Conditions:

This role will require flexibility in shift times, as interaction with different shifts may be required. Must be able to obtain CPIC clearance.


What You Bring:


  • Work experience or knowledge of the Building Maintenance Service industry is required.
  • Demonstrated success in people management, either in a prior management role or equivalent experience
  • The ability to successfully pass a reliability clearance and criminal record check
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and stakeholders
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset (but not required)
  • Experience developing and fostering positive team environments
  • Strong emotional intelligence and maturity
  • Organized with strong follow through
