POSITION PURPOSE


Work as part of the Marketing & Communications team in the development and management of website content, primarily for the purpose of marketing Tyndale.

Content management tasks include (but are not limited to) creating new content pages, editing existing content, creating or editing images for use on the web and reviewing content created by other contributors.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities

  • Build and/or manage content on the main Tyndale website, primarily using Drupal as a content management system
  • Build and/or manage content on secondary Tyndale websites utilizing multiple tools
  • Creation and manipulation of graphics and photos for use in website content
  • Assist in website discovery using tools such as Information Architecture Exercises, Comparison Studies, Content Audits, Keyword Analysis etc.
  • Quality assurance testing: Accessibility testing, Device & browser testing, Technical review etc.
  • Migration of content or data as required
  • Tracking, analyzing and reporting on the performance of all content deliverables
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation supporting Tyndale website projects
  • Train other faculty and staff on using Drupal to maintain their website content.
  • Meet deadlines for all assigned tasks and projects.
  • Support of other Marketing & Communications team members as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

a) Education

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in design, marketing or other related field; or equivalent experience

b) Experience

  • 34 years of experience managing website content using a Content Management System (preferably Drupal), or with HTML/CSS
  • Some experience in image editing software for cropping and minor image manipulation
  • Experience in an academic or notforprofit setting, preferred

c) Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage website content within a Content Management System
  • Ability to read and write HTML and CSS in a code editor
  • Good web page layout skills
  • Ability to perform image editing tasks such as cropping and resizing
  • Knowledge of Accessibility standards; AODA and WCAG
  • General understanding of industry principals such as "Responsive Web Design"
  • Ability and passion to continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to train others
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and solve complex problems with mínimal guidance
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize, and the ability to balance the needs of many projects at once
  • Copy writing skills would be an asset
  • A basic understanding of JavaScript would be an asset

d) Personal Characteristics

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as a competent listener

e) Physical and Mental Demands

  • Standard office environment and equipment

Salary Range:
$39,350 - $45,000
