Job Description:


Steward - Dishwasher


Every memorable dining experience at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge begins behind the scenes with our Food & Beverage team's commitment to safe and efficient operations.

Support a skilled and engaged team as a Steward's Helper, where your care and inspection of all flatware, tableware and kitchen equipment will ensure a superior standard.


Rate of Pay:
Starting at $16.05 per hour. Full rate after one year is $17.65 per hour.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Chief Steward, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
  • Follow stewarding policies, procedures and service standards
  • Ensure plates, cups, glasses, silverware, pots & all cooking utensils are cleaned using the appropriate machinery
  • Remove garbage and compost from kitchen
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of stewarding kitchen areas
  • Supply equipment requirements for kitchen and outlets
  • Following all safety and sanitation policies
  • Adhere to the hotel's vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


Your experience and skills include:


  • Previous stewarding experience an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Your team and working environment:


  • Standing: 68 hr/day
  • Sitting: 01 hr/day
  • Walking: 68 hr/day
  • Bending/reaching: 68 hr/day
  • Pushing/pulling: 68 hr/day
  • Physical effort: high required to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Environmental stress: high hot, loud, work with chemicals and hot water, must be willing to get hands dirty
  • Fastpaced, upscale, luxury hotel
  • Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and worldrenowned hiking trails in summer
