Reporting to the Facility Manager and working with the operations team in Milton, the Facilities Maintenance Assistant is responsible for day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of the warehouse buildings.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILIES
- Perform maintenance or general repairs on items such as doors, floors, product racks etc.
- Schedule, assign and/or perform duties in painting and minor plumbing
- Comply with OSHA
- Ensure the facility is consistently maintained
- Coordinate all maintenance requirements with Facility Manager
- General maintenance work to help support housekeeping functions and upkeep to equipment
- Respond to maintenance requests and provide oncall responses during emergencies
- Keep warehouse in clean and orderly condition following 5S.
- Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment
- Remove snow from pedestrian walkways and keep grounds free of litter and debris
- Good communication skills to liaise with both Management and Trades personnel
- Consistently show good judgment and attention to detail
- Takes initiative and follows through to ensure completion of projects
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Must understand basic maintenance functions
- Must have the ability to manage multiple maintenance projects
