Reporting to the Facility Manager and working with the operations team in Milton, the Facilities Maintenance Assistant is responsible for day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of the warehouse buildings.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILIES

Perform maintenance or general repairs on items such as doors, floors, product racks etc.
Schedule, assign and/or perform duties in painting and minor plumbing
Comply with OSHA
Ensure the facility is consistently maintained
Coordinate all maintenance requirements with Facility Manager
General maintenance work to help support housekeeping functions and upkeep to equipment
Respond to maintenance requests and provide oncall responses during emergencies
Keep warehouse in clean and orderly condition following 5S.
Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment
Remove snow from pedestrian walkways and keep grounds free of litter and debris

SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE

Good communication skills to liaise with both Management and Trades personnel
Consistently show good judgment and attention to detail
Takes initiative and follows through to ensure completion of projects
Ability to handle physical workload
Must understand basic maintenance functions
Must have the ability to manage multiple maintenance projects
