    Job Description

    The Funding, Treasury and Liquidity technology group within RBC Capital Markets' Quantitative and Technology Services organization is commencing the build out of a new funds transfer pricing infrastructure to accurately allocate the cost of funding and liquidity raised by the firm to the consumers of those scarce financial resources. This is a new application build that will leverage core strategic frameworks and build out new flexible, extensible capabilities. It is a great opportunity to join at the beginning of a multi-year journey in what is a complex area of a bank's operations. As a developer, you will participate in design, code, test activities and implement the technology solution, as well as contribute to innovative opportunities for technology to enhance the business's capabilities. You will work within a small team liaising with business analysts and business users directly. This is a hands-on development role with a real opportunity to learn the Capital Markets business.

    What will you do?

    • Work in a small team of 5, with potential for growth in 2024/5, to build the new funds transfer pricing solution.
    • Use best of breed development practices from the outset of the project and coach the team in adhering to the same.
    • Work closely with business and other stakeholders to really understand the business, create great designs and implement the technical solution.
    • As part of an agile team, participate in story estimating, sprint planning and developing/testing stories on time
    • Collaborate with the broader technology group to converge on best practices, adopt reusable frameworks and components and contribute to building further reusable assets.

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field coupled with at least 3 years java development experience.
    • Proficiency in Java11 minimum
    • Working knowledge of Spring Boot
    • Working knowledge of RDBMS/SQL
    • Working knowledge of Docker/ Kubernetes /Containerization

    Nice-to-have:

    • Python
    • Java 17
    • HTML5
    • Cloudera Data Platform tools, HDFS, Hive, Spark,
    • Drools rules engine, or variant of
    • Financial services experience

    In this role, you will communicate frequently with head office staff in Toronto.
