This includes consulting and design, product supply and professional installation working alongside our clients to meet their specific needs.

Our team consists of horticultural professional design specialists with a focus on training and educating new team members with a genuine interest in our craft.

Who are you?

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic gardening/horticultural minded professional to join our Gardening Division of The Blooming Gardener in the Full Time leadership role as
Landscape Foreman/Master Gardener for the 2023 season.

The Blooming Gardener offers a competitive compensation package as well as an opportunity to work with some of the most visible clients in HRM.

In this position you will work with small teams as a lead & mentor reporting directly to ownership.

You will oversee a small team of laborers in the installation and routine garden maintenance for mainly high end & commercial clients.

Duties are included (but not limited to):

Gardening weeding (not lawn care), mulching, planting Pruning
Utilize established horticultural skills to execute contracted design plans
Reviewing work orders
Interact professionally with clients on jobsite while representing the brand
Renovation, installation and maintenance of gardens
Utilization of horticultural knowledge base
Frequent Kneeling, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, standing, walking
Loading and Unloading vehicles with product and supplies
Required to Lead and mentor small teams
Execute plans per the Landscape Designer
Driving company vehicles for transport of materials and staff to and from jobsite
Work alongside Landscape Install team when required
Provide feedback to ownership on a constant basis regarding work completed as well as employee progress and training needs
Assist with the rescheduling of employees for weather related adjustments

Position Requirements

Knowledge of the characteristics and cultural requirements of ornamental plants, shrubs and trees adapted to the region is an asset
Horticultural education and/or relevant experience required
Must have knowledge and experience or skills in basic gardening or other horticulture related areas
Must be comfortable leading small teams
Must hold a valid Driver's License
Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the position (standing, lifting, always mobile)
Genuine interest in horticultural practices
Must be able to fully commit to position during high season, as we are a 7 day a week operation when required due to weather and volume
