With a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction, we are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Carpenter Helper to join our team at our North Cowichan location.

As a Carpenter Helper, you will be responsible for assisting our skilled carpenters in various construction and woodworking tasks. By learning and adhering to safety guidelines and company standards, you will contribute to the successful completion of projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials according to project specifications.
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring that all tools and materials are properly stored.
  • Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Operate hand and power tools under the supervision of a skilled carpenter.
  • Assist with the installation and repair of structures and fixtures, including framing, drywall, and trim work.
  • Help with the erection, leveling, and installation of building framework.
  • Perform other constructionrelated tasks as needed or directed by the carpenter or site supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work well with team members.

Requirements:


  • Prior experience in construction or woodworking is preferred, but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform laborintensive tasks, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions.

Salary:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cowichan Bay, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- carpentry: 1 year (preferred)
