Purpose

Accountabilities

  • Oversees the requirements on segregated fund sales in assigned regions. This includes running daily reports to identify new sales and obtaining the required documentation; managing the client and policy records in Centralize, with all relevant documentation and notes; ensuring that licensing requirements are met; and escalating any issues as they arise.
  • Provides inforce administrative support to advisor teams, ICs, and AISAs. This includes managing service requests/changes of inforce policies; helping advisors obtain and complete applicable forms; updating the policy records in Centralize; resolving administrative problems on inforce business; distributing policy statements, reminders, and notices; responding to general policy inquiries; managing Agent of Record (AOR) requests and reassignment of policies; and helping to facilitate premium payments.
  • Manages the claims process for life insurance and living benefit policies. This includes liaising with advisor teams; providing the necessary documentation and guidance on requirements; following the claim through to settlement; facilitating the payments; and documenting the status of claims in Centralize.
  • Enhances licensing support to advisors, ICs, and other licensed SWIS colleagues. This includes leveraging Centralize capabilities to follow up on expiring licenses; tracking to ensure that all provincial licenses of SWIS employees are renewed on a timely basis; engaging with Registrations on any questions or support that's needed; and escalating issues as they arise.
  • Acts as a relationship manager on insurance administration issues for assigned region. This includes being a key resource for advisors, sales leaders, ICs, AISAs, and ISAs that provides direction on administrative matters; proactively identifying and escalating issues; and keeping everyone apprised of any developments or updates around business processing.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Dimensions
Supporting approx. 40 Sr. ICs and ICs along with other Scotia Wealth Management field staff, which includes over 70 specialist professionals and over 800 relationship managers across the business lines


Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)

  • High school diploma or higher
  • Fluent in French is a requirement
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Life Insurance Industry or Financial Services
  • LLQP, LOMA Designations are assets
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Selfmotivated
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work well with mínimal direction and multitask
