We are currently seeking a _
Business Development Associate_ for our Toronto, Ontario location.

This position is responsible to develop and evaluate potential business opportunities in specific geographical regions and market segments to establish new business and new dealers.

The Business Development Associate will also coordinate and execute the Company's participation in external trade shows, exhibitions, hosted conferences and events.


Responsibilities

  • Initiate direct market contact with prospective industries, government agencies, trade associations and dealer networks to promote the Company products and services domestically and internationally;
  • Evaluate the market opportunities and develop strategies to close on business opportunities;
  • Contribute to increased market share, volume and profit of Company business by meeting specific objectives within the region or market segment for all products and services sold in that region or market segment;
  • Coordinate and followup on existing leads and generate new leads in an effective and structured manner;
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations;
  • Develop, update and maintain a database of existing and potential customers;
  • Demonstrate and or present products and services to potential clients while keeping a solutionsbased and/or consultative sales approach;
  • Provide regular information to assist management with decision making, including competitor profiles and market analysis;
  • Assist with after sales inquiries, investigate customer complaints, and ensure that they are dealt with to the customers' satisfaction;
  • Coordination of all activities related to trade shows, including trade show deliverables, working with internal groups to deliver on approved schedule, development of display booth schedule, logistics planning, production and shipping schedule, provision of onsite stand support for select trade shows and conferences;
  • Promoting conference and trade show events by means of edistribution, flyer production, and creation and maintenance of promotional distribution lists;
  • Maintaining a listing of upcoming events on the internal and external web pages, including hosted events, sponsor involvement, and exhibitor activity;
  • Collaborating with others in the Company for hosted conferences and special events through logistics coordination, promotions, and registrations; and

Qualifications/ Education

  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage both customers and employees;

Must be fluent in English.

A second language preferably in Spanish ;:


  • Postsecondary education, preferably with a business focus;
  • Marketing courses or like experience is desirable;
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in conference organization, event management and trade show design;
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in marketing with development of clear, concise and effective media design for presentation of products
  • Experience with project organization, print media and web design independently and together with a team of professionals;
  • Good communication skills both written and oral, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group within the Company;
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected;
  • Understanding of privacy issues;
  • Problem solving skills which require exercising independent judgment.
  • Ability to lift / move boxes and equipment up to 50 Kg on a regular basis;
  • Must hold and maintain a valid passport for travel as required
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a clean Criminal Records Search;
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a clean Driver Records Search;
