General Accountability:


  • Reporting to the Director
  • Portfolio Management, the Manager is responsible for the daily direction and overseeing the entire lifecycle for the Enterprise Asset Management business portfolio of systems. This includes production support, maintenance, capital project/program development/configuration, enhancement and development, ensuring alignment with business goals and meeting customer needs. Responsibilities include planning and allocating staff and other resources assigned to this group; work scheduling; achieving commitments and complying with standards for the provision of timely and cost effective deliverables. This involves planning, scheduling and monitoring the section's activities, resources and budgets.

Key Job Functions:


  • The manager ensures the effectiveness of this group by:
  • providing a full range of production support, maintenance, enhancement and development services;
- providing detailed estimates of resources, cost, schedule and impact of various requests of plans for evaluation/inclusion into business cases;
- directing the allocation of resources within the group, through an established resource allocation and change approval process;
- maintaining direct liaison with key users for daily issues related to maintenance and production support as well as other technical areas of ITS regarding architecture, standards, technical support needs;
- ensuring all systems development activities undertaken by this group adhere to technical and methods standards (with emphasis on satisfying audit, QA and security requirements);
- delivering, monitoring and reporting on the progress of projects, support and performance measures for the group against plan and budget for the Director
  • Portfolio Management;
- assisting in the preparation of the annual budget for Portfolio Management based on existing and forecasted needs for systems support and maintenance, and monitoring the performance of the area by reviewing key indicators such as performance and budget, number of problem tickets resolved, and enhancement and development requests completed;
- managing Capital projects/deliverables within capital projects, which may have a significant impact on existing systems within the Manager's portfolio.
