McMan is looking for a
Community Outreach Worker whose role will be to
engage with youth who are at risk of or engaged in sexual exploitation.

The focus of the Community Outreach Worker will be on prevention, education, case management and outreach supports to youth and their families.

This position will work with partnering agencies and systems who provide services for youth who are engaged in or at risk of sexual exploitation to ensure a collaborative, client-centered approach to mitigating risk.


Some of the key aspects of this role include:

  • Developing individualized case management plans based on the unique needs and goals of each youth
  • Coordinating safety planning meetings and developing prevention safety plans
  • Working with the individual, various agencies, systems and support networks to create a collaborative plan for mitigating risk
  • Providing support to a diverse group of youth and connecting youth to services within their communities, where needed
  • Identify, develop, and facilitate education/awareness sessions relevant to various youth populations
  • Diploma/Degree in Human Services
  • Knowledge and experience with highrisk youth population.
    Previous knowledge or experience in the areas of sexual exploitation and human trafficking is necessary
  • Experience in working with youth and families with complex needs
  • Understanding and ability to work with numerous social service systems
  • Knowledge of the Child, Youth Enhancement Act and PSECA (Protection of Sexually Exploited Children Act) legislation
  • Knowledge and connection to community and professional resources
  • Knowledge of diversity issues around culture, religion, and other orientations
  • Experience facilitating groups / community education
  • Ability to work a flexible shift pattern that will include some evening work and occasional weekend work as well as the willingness to be on call
  • Current standard First Aid Certification and Suicide Intervention Training
  • Valid Driver's license and adequate insurance coverage (2 million liability)
  • Current Police and Child Intervention checks (within 6 months)
